How do I cite books, textbooks, and book chapters?

Books

Section 10.2 of the manual provides guidelines for citing books and reference works (pp.321-325).

Here's an example of the format for citing a book without a DOI:

LoBiondo-Wood, G., Haber, J., Cameron, C., & Singh, M.D. (Eds.). (2009). Nursing research in Canada: Methods and critical appraisal for evidence-based practice. Mosby/Elsevier.

This particular example is a course textbook, and is also an example of referencing a book with editors.

Book Chapters and Entries in Reference Books

Section 10.3 provides guidelines for citing chapters from edited books and entries in reference books.

Here's an example of how to cite a book chapter, using the same example as above:

Haber, J., & Cameron, C. (2009). Developing research questions, hypotheses, and clinical questions. In G. LoBiondo-Wood, J. Haber, C. Cameron, & M.D. Singh, (Eds.), Nursing research in Canada: Methods and critical appraisal for evidence-based practice (pp.65-89). Mosby/Elsevier.

*Note that the second and subsequent lines should be indented (not shown in the examples above due to html formatting).
