How do I format in-text citations?
Chapter six of the manual covers everything you need to know about in-text citations, but it is a lot of information to digest.
Quotations fewer than 40 words are incorporated into the text, using double quotation marks.
Quotations with 40 or more words are displayed in a freestanding block of text, without quotation marks.
See pages 170-171 for examples.
Table 6.1 on page 177 covers the basic citation styles, including how to cite a group as an author (i.e. RNAO).
All information and page number references are based on the 6th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (2009/10).
