How do I format long quotations?

The manual's section on Paraphrases and Quotations (pgs. 269-278) covers everything you need to know about this topic, but it is a lot of information to digest.

Remember:

  • Quotations fewer than 40 words are incorporated into the text, using double quotation marks (pg. 271).
  • Quotations with 40 or more words are displayed in a freestanding block of text, without quotation marks (p. 272).
  • Table 8.1 covers the basic citation styles (in-text), including how to cite a group as an author (i.e. RNAO) (p. 266).
