How do I cite statistics?

Rule #75 in section 10.9 (pp. 337-338) on Data Sets, Software, and Tests has the appropriate rule for citing statistics.

Authors should include citations in-text and in the references for their own data sets and for publicly available data sets.

References to data sets should include the author, year (publication or collection date), title (followed by a version number in parentheses, if applicable) and a description of the data set (e.g, code book), publisher (if known), and a DOI or URL (if available).

Reference format:

Author/Group (Year). Title of data set (Version #) [Type of data set]. Source/Publisher. DOI or URL

Note

All information and page number references are based on the 7th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (2020).
