How do I find the full-text of the New York Times online?

Gale Academic OneFile:

  • Coverage from 1985 to present.
  • Browse issues by date.
  • Search for articles using the "Search Within Publication" box in the top right corner.

Nexis Uni:

  • Coverage from 1980 to present.

Factiva:

  • Coverage from 1980 to present.
  • To easily browse recent issues of the New York Times, see the Home tab. Scroll down to the Newsstand: United States section. Use the New York Times drop-downs to select a section (e.g. front page, business, sports, etc.) and a date. 
  • Search for articles in the Search tab. To limit results to the New York Times, use the Source filter. Within the Source filter menu, search "New York Times" and click on The New York Times - All Sources to add it to the search criteria. This will include the New York Times, International New York Times, and nytimes.com feed.  

ProQuest Historical Newspapers:

  • For historical coverage from 1851 to 2016.
  • Available in original print paper format and layout.
