How do I find dissertations on business and other topics?
Databases
Scholarship@Western: For Western University (including Ivey) dissertations and theses.
ProQuest Dissertations & Theses
Theses Canada: Access and search the full-text electronic versions of numerous Canadian theses and dissertations
Center for Research Libraries: To search all theses, use the Dissertation tab.
EThOS: Single point of access to Ph.D. theses from 131 UK institutions of higher education. Digitization on demand for dissertations not already digitized. Most dissertations are digitized for free. When there is a charge, CRL will pay for the digitization of UK dissertations requested through their demand purchase program.
Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD): International organization dedicated to promoting the adoption, creation, use, dissemination and preservation of electronic analogues to the traditional paper-based theses and dissertations. Find ETDs in the collection.
Institutional Repositories
Universities often provide electronic access to current or recently published dissertations through their institutional repositories. Use a search engine like Google to search the name of the university and institutional repository (e.g. western university institutional repository). You can also try a directory of repositories like:
OpenDOAR (Directory of Open Access Repositories)
ROAR (Registry of Open Access Repositories)
Catalogue Search
Search our Library Catalogue. On the advanced search screen enter your keywords. Then use the "Resource Type" drop-down to select Theses & Dissertations and search.
If the thesis or dissertation you require is not available at Western Libraries or one of the databases above, Interlibrary Loan Service is available to all currently registered students, faculty and staff of the University. Information about ILL Services is available at http://www.lib.uwo.ca/ill.
If you require further assistance, please contact the Business library
