How do I find earnings by education and occupation?

For wages by education, visit the Statistics Canada website. Choose Subject from the top menu, then Labour. Under Earnings, wages and non-wage benefits, choose Education, skills and earnings and select the Data tab.

For U.S. information, try the resources offered by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

  • For pay by occupation, use the publication Occupational Outlook Handbook. Click on the left side menu for occupation categories. Final results also list the type of  Entry-Level Education that is usually needed.
  • For pay by education, use the publication TED: The Economics Daily and search for data. Use the TED search box and enter the terms "education and earnings" .
