How do I find info on the Telecommunications industry?

MarketLine Advantage: In the top navigation menu click Sectors > Telecoms & IT. Use the limiters on the side to filter for specific geographic regions, content type, and dates as needed.

Canadian Industry Statistics: Provides industry trends and financial information, such as GDP, labour productivity, manufacturing and trade data. Search for telecommunications industries by keyword, NAICS code, or browse for them.

CRTC: Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission

CWTA: Canadian Wireless & Telecommunications Association

Mergent Online: Click the Industry analysis tab. Then: 

  • For industry data, see the Characteristics tab. Click the second drop-down and select Telecommunications.
  • For data on major companies within a particular industry, click the Membership tab. In the first drop-down click Industry, Supersector, Sector, or Subsector and choose a telecommunications category in the second drop-down.
  • For reports, click the Reports tab. Then click the Industry, Supersector, ESG, or Mergent Reports sub-tab. Check the Telecommunications box and click the download button.

IBIS World: Keyword search for telecommunications industry reports by keyword, or use a NAICS code (e.g. 517).

Frost & Sullivan: For in-depth market research and strategy reports. Click on the Browse icon in the menu on the left (graph icon). In the menu to the left click Information & Communication Tech. Use additional filters at the top of the page as needed.

Statista: Keyword search for statistics on telecommunications.

  • To find reports quickly. Click Reports in the top navigation menu and select Industry Reports. Search for telecommunications or other relevant keywords. Refine by geography as needed.

Fitch Connect:

  • In the top navigation menu select Country Risk & Industry Research then click Industries and choose Telecommunications.
  • For data, select Data Tools in the top navigation menu. Choose the Interactive Charts option. Choose a country using the select entities/geographies option. For the data item select an indicator from Industries > Telecommunications. Next, select a date range and finally a visualization option.

Factiva: For statistics, news, and analysis. Hover over Companies/Markets in the top navigation menu and select Industry. Browse for industries such as Telecommunications services, Telecommunications Equipment, Wired Telecommunications Services, and Wireless Telecommunications.

First Research: Enter your email to access the database. Search for reports by keyword (e.g. telecommunications) or NAICS code.

Pitchbook (instructions to create an account here): Search telecommunications in the search box at the top of the page. Then select the Industries & Verticals tab. Double-click an industry to view a full overview
