How do I find info on obsolete securities?

Many of our Company Databases will have information on inactive companies including Mergent Online, Capital IQ, and Bloomberg. Try searching a ticker symbol. 

Financial Post (FP) Survey: Predecessor & Defunct records changes to Canadian public companies including incorporation changes, amalgamations, takeovers, receiverships, acquisitions, privatizations, dissolutions, cancelled charters and de-registrations. Copies are located in the Business Library. 

TSX Venture Exchange Listed Company Information can be searched for obsolete Canadian securities. Company summaries may include name changes, property locations, type of business, trading status, and more. 

Canada's Business Registries has information from the official registries of Alberta, British Columbia, Corporations Canada, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan. Select "Active and inactive businesses" when searching. 

Federal Corporation Search is a database of companies that have completed a transaction with Corporations Canada. Use the Corporation Status drop-down to select Inactive - Amalgamated, Inactive - Discontinued, or Dissolved.
