How do I find historical and current economic data for countries worldwide?

Search International Monetary Fund Data and Statistics.

Search EIU Country Data.

Use Bloomberg available in the Business Library. Type ECST and hit GO.

Use Fitch Connect. Select Data Tools in the top navigation menu. Choose the Interactive Charts option. Choose a country using the select entities/geographies menu. For the data item select an indicator from the Macro-Economic option. Next, select a date range and finally a visualization option.

Try Global Edge. Select a country to view its profile. On the left side, click Economy to view economic data.  

Use UNCTADstat.

Search the EMIS Intelligence database. Select Client Login in the top right corner. Then click the Countries tab. Choose the Macroeconomic Statistics and Forecasts icon. Use the options on the left to choose countries and indicators. 

Use S&P Capital IQ.

  • Click Markets > Macroeconomics. Then search for a country. 
  • Try the Chart Builder feature. In the top menu select Charting > Chart Builder. Click the "Select Entity" search box, choose the Geographies tab, and search a country. Then select a metric and date range. 

Use World Bank Open Data. Select a country.
