How do I find transportation information and statistics?

For Canadian information on road, aviation, rail, and marine transportation, see:

Bureau of Transportation (US):They compile, analyze, and makes accessible information and statistics on U.S. transportation systems; key reports for air travel include FAA Statistical Handbook of Aviation, Air Traffic Statistics, and Airline Financial Statistics.

Statista: Search for statistics by keyword. On the search results page use the Countries & Territories filter to limit reports to a specific country/region. 

Fitch Connect: For data from a wide variety of countries, select Data Tools in the top navigation menu. Choose the Interactive Charts option. Choose a country using the select entities/geographies option. For the data item select an indicator from Industries > Freight Transport & Shipping or Industries > Infrastructure > Transport. Select a date range and a visualization option.

Industry Reports 

IBIS World: For Canadian, American, Chinese, and Global industry reports. Search for reports by keyword (e.g. transportation, rail, etc.) or NAICS code.

First Research: Search for reports by keyword or NAICS code.

Marketline Advantage: Includes reports on transportation services. Search by keyword.

BCC Research: Search for reports by keyword

Mergent Market Atlas: Select the INDUSTRY tab and then the REPORTS sub-tab on the left. On the righthand side select the category that best suits your needs (Industry, Supersector, ESG, or Mergent Reports). Find the latest Industrial Transportation report.
