How do I find information on taxes paid by companies?

Use Capital IQ - available in the Business Library - Search for and access the company of interest. Under the Financials/Valuation link (left column) 1) Choose Income Statement and look under EBT Including Unusual Items then Income Tax Expense.  2) The more accepted calculation of Income Tax  can be found under the Cash Flow tab - then Supplemental Items - Cash Taxes Paid


Use Mergent Online. Search for and access the company of interest. In the Company Financials tab change Balance Sheet to Cash Flow and scroll down.


For Canadian companies, the publication Financial and Taxation Statistics for Enterprises published by Statistics Canada presents industry-wide statistics for 57 industry groups (defined by NAICs).


For American companies, use the Tax Statistics page of the Internal Revenue Service website.

For American companies, use Datastream in the Business Library. The database normally reports the amount of income taxes paid by American companies annually.


The publication Quarterly Financial Statistics for Enterprises published by Statistics Canada presents aggregate and industry-wide statistics for 31 industry groups.
