How do I find the closing price for Canadian stock market sub-indices?
Yahoo! Canada Finance offers free access to the basic Canadian sub-indices, going back to 2002.
Use Bloomberg and type SPTSX INDEX <GO>. To find all sub-indices, type GRPS. For a complete list use the security finder SECF. Choose INDEX/STATS and then EQUITY. The country code for Canada is CA.
In Capital IQ perform a keyword search, ex: TSX and consumer staples, to find your index. Use the chart builder.
