How can I find data on restaurants and the food services industry?

IBIS World: Try searching keywords like restaurants, fast food, bars, coffee shops, caterers, etc., or type in NAICS code 722 for industry reports on different types of restaurants and food services.

MarketLine Advantage: Search restaurant or foodservice. Limit by geography, content type, or date as needed. See industry profiles, analysis, case studies, news, and more

Statista: Try a keyword search for topics such as restaurants, food industry, food services, fast food, etc. See topic reports, statistical dossiers, individual statistics, and more.

  • For consumer data click Global Survey in the top navigation menu. For pre-set tables, click the Industries & Topics tab. See topics such as Diets & Nutrition and Food Delivery. Select a Geographic region from the "Country" drop-down and customize your table as needed.

Mintel Reports: Select Foodservice from the "Category" drop-down to display the latest reports on that topic. Further limit results by region, trend drivers, demographics, or keywords.

  • To explore consumer data from Mintel Reports click Consumer Data under "Analytics" at the top of the screen. Filter by Foodservice in the menu to the left and choose a relevant report to see data.

EMIS: Click Client Log In at the top right corner of the screen to enter the full database. Search for reports using relevant keywords (e.g. restaurants, food service, cafe, bars, etc.). Use the Reports filter to limit results to Global or Country/Regional Market Research Reports. Use the Country/Regions filter to limit to specific countries if necessary.

Canadian Industry Statistics: Browse for Food Services and Drinking Places, or search NAICS code 722.

Conference Board of Canada: Search food services. Look for Canadian Industrial Outlook: Food Services or Industrial Lens: Food Services reports.
