Western Open Access Policy

In 2019, the Provost, in consultation with Senate, convened a task force to investigate open access and scholarly communication issues that are relevant to Western. As part of this work, the task force recommended that Western create an open access policy, and over the 2020-21 year, the task force explored the North American open access landscape, consulted with campus stakeholders, and held a series of meetings and town halls to discuss what a policy for Western might look like. The draft OA policy is the result of that process.
