Will Western's OA policy mean I have to pay open access publishing fees?
No, the OA policy does not mean that you have to pay open access publishing fees. While some journals request fees for open access publishing, and there are discounts and waivers available to authors affiliated with Western, other OA journals are free for authors, and open access publishing is only one way to comply with this policy. You can also deposit a preprint or an author accepted manuscript in Scholarship@Western, Western’s OA institutional repository, or in an open access disciplinary repository.
