How do I find demographic data?
- See the latest Census Profiles 2021: Search by place name, or search a postal code to see demographic tables for corresponding geographic levels from province/territory to small dissemination areas.
- Search using the StatsCan GeoSearch tool.
- Use the map to zoom in to a location or search a location name/postal code using the search bar
- Scroll below the map to view data and analysis on the area specified in the map including census profiles
SimplyAnalytics (for Canadian Information):
- Sign in as a guest, or create an account to save work.
- Select New Project and enter a location (e.g. London, ON)
- Select Create project without seed variables
- Select the Map view by clicking “Create”
- Choose a variable of interest from the Data menu (e.g. Household Income)
- Select Done to create the map using the selected Location and Data
- Zoom in or out to see different geographic regions from large provinces to small dissemination areas
- Select the “i” icon and click a geographic region to see the specific value for mapped data rather than a range
Ontario Ministry of Finance Demographics: Includes a section on population projections, access to the Ontario Demographic Quarterly publication, and census highlights.
Social Explorer: Provides access to current and historical United States census data and demographic information.
United Stated Census Bureau: Search or browse the Explore Data page.
MarketLine, see the following databases:
- Country statistics includes demographic for over 200 countries. Click the Demography tab.
- City statistics on over 3000 cities across 150 countries including demographic, economic, employment, income, and expenditure data
Statista: Click the Reports drop-down in the top navigation menu, and select Country Reports. Search for geographic regions including countries, provinces/states, cities, and more for demographic/consumer reports.
OECD.Stat: Includes data and metadata for OECD countries and selected non-member economies. Choose a theme in the menu to the left, includes Demography & Population.
UNData: Contains over 60 million data points cover a wide range of themes and countries. Search keywords or browse popular statistical tables and geographic profiles.
